Later Then, BlackBerry 10

Samsung Galaxy S3 was released in May. As expected, many have sold their BlackBerrys and bought this technological magic. It is history's current fastest-selling smartphone. Impressive hardware, larger HD screens, and a multitude of apps from Android make this phone a must-have. However, months after, Apple released their iPhone 5 with a bang last September. The dubbed "iPhone 4S 2.0" created a tidal wave of demands and pre-orders reached millions. Even though Apple's stock has started going down, the iPhone 5 remains a hit for smartphone lovers and patrons alike. How about RIM? Well, the company is expected to release their magnum opus, the BlackBerry 10. Their patrons have been anticipating this phone for months. However, they are expected to wait longer.
A senior analyst doubts that the phone will be released earlier than expected. The analyst warns investors that this delay may mean more losses for BlackBerry's makers. Peter Misek, the Jeffries and Co. analyst, dubs that "We had hoped for a Jan launch but now see a March launch as more likely." He believes that because most carriers prefer other smartphone brands like Samsung and iPhone to stock, RIM may have to establish a good ground to get a large chunk of the carriers' inventory. Doing so will take a long time since they have not proven how strong the demand is for BlackBerry 10. They also need to look for third-party companies like HTC and Samsung to license their operating system for handsets. However, it would be most likely that this will slow down the process. Misek sees that RIM will not have partners for this endeavor, which they badly need. This will result in investors putting their money more in BlackBerry 7 handsets that will surely corrode RIM's bottom line. Would this result in people trying to sell used BlackBerry units?
The delay will translate to financial loss again. The company is dependent on its $2.3 billion to make the financial impossibility of catching up with revenues. Misek predicts that it needs a billion more just to manufacture enough units to eventually pay off their financial obligations and launch their newly developed operating system. The delay may be BlackBerry's blessing in disguise. The analyst creates a particular analysis that this is what RIM needs to catch up with the strong hype for flagship smartphones. Misek points out that the Canadian firm will not erode enough for Microsoft to invest and capitalize on its Windows Phone 8 smartphones, (considered third because of its weakness in consumer demand). He says, "We believe a third ecosystem will emerge, but the probability of BB10 filling the role is wholly dependent on whether RIM can convince Samsung, Huawei, and ZTE to license."
RIM executives have given consumers some of the amazing features BlackBerry 10 has. Its apps and servers are exclusive and improved and will debut with RIM's future smartphone. Despite many people who sell used BlackBerrys, RIM is hopeful that their BlackBerry 10 will be their redeemer from the shackles of criticism, financial loss, and mistrust from consumers.
